Scouting for Food - Good Turn for America

February 5, 2011 – Door Hanger Distribution
February 12, 2011 – Food Collection

More than 20 million Americans, including 4 million children, go hungry every month. There are more hungry people in America now than at any time in the last 25 years. 75 percent of those seeking emergency food were families with children.

Hunger is a problem we can do something about by working together. Scouting for Food is a starting point! Scouting for Food is a project rooted in the very foundation of the Scouting movement. It is an example of Scouting’s long standing commitment to service and demonstrates to Scouts and the community at large the highest ideals of the Boy Scouts of America through a practical and dramatic experience in the principle of the daily “Good Turn.”

We can make a difference! The Yankee Clipper Council in coordination with Scouting Districts, Packs, Troops, Crews, Posts and all of their members will through initiative and hard work help fill local food pantries and feed thousands of needy residents with emergency aid.

Simply download and follow this plan!  And complete and mail-in the Unit Commitment Form and truly make a difference in our community.
