University of Scouting

HOW MUCH: $20.00 before April 1, 2008, $25.00 late registration.

What is the University of Scouting? It’s an “EXPOSITION”,  an opportunity to try out different things and explore new areas of Scouting. Ever tried Geocaching? Come and learn how to use GPS receivers in your Scouting program. Want to know more about the New England Orienteering Club or cycling trips? How about Pediatric First Aid or CPR Essentials? Interested in Woodcarving skills?

What is the University of Scouting? It’s “SUPPLEMENTAL TRAINING”. Come and take some classes to build on the skills that you already have.....The Patrol Method, Webelos to Scout Transition, Merit Badge Counselor training.  

CUB SCOUT LEADERS -  attending the University of Scouting satisfies the training requirement for attending POW WOW. Come and learn about Cub Scout Ceremonies, how to add Pizzazz to your meetings. Ever used Genius Kits?

What is the University of Scouting? It’s an “EXHIBITION”. There will be a midway running from 11am until 2pm. Take the time to browse the exhibits and see the representatives from the White Mountain National Forest, Museum of Science, and many others. Visit the New England Scout Shop Store and pick up your supplies. Do you like patches—there will be a patch sale too!  

What is the University of Scouting? It’s a “FUN FILLED FANTASTIC DAY of FELLOWSHIP and LEARNING!”.

You can attend up to six classes, (five for walk-in registrations), and you get to choose them from any of the four categories that are offered:

  • COLLEGE of GENERAL STUDIES

  • COLLEGE of CUB SCOUTING

  • COLLEGE of BOY SCOUTING

  • COLLEGE OF VENTURING.

You get to choose, but the earlier you sign up, the more choice there will be.
