Cub Scout Overnight Camp is a short-term camping experience designed to introduce Cubs and their parents to a theme-based, summertime camping experience. It's four days and three nights of exciting and adventurous activities that will make lifetime memories. Of course there'll be fun! But the true purpose of our new Cub Scout Resident Camp at Lone Tree Scout Reservation is more about your son's growth and development
A Cub Scout who attends will begin to develop such traits as self-reliance, responsibility, and cooperation.
Cubs will be housed in a two-boy tent, pitched on a wooden platform, and will sleep on a cot with a mattress. In case of harsh weather, he will be moved to an inside location. Meals will be served in Lone Tree's spacious dining hall.
Everthing in the program is intended to reinforce what a caring parent stresses on a regular basis...cleanliness (your son and his tent-mate will undergo a daily "inspection" to check their personal cleanliness and that of their tent), sense of accomplishment, self-confidence, and personal independance (without video games and cell phones). Parents will also play a key role both on arrival day and at the Family Night program on Tuesday evening.
Our exceptional staff of trained adults and outstanding high school and college students will facilitate the age-appropriate program including aquatics, fishing, environmental studies, sports, and lots more!
- Adults who volunteer as program staff or den escorts for the week will receive discounts for their boys.
- An up-to-date medical form (found at Base Camp) is required for all boys. (Parts A, B, & C.)
- A photocopy of both sides of your son's medical insurance card must be brought to camp.
