EAGLE SCOUT ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP
Purpose: To present annually one
or more $1,000
(non-renewable) scholarship to a qualified candidate who best represents the Scouting's Ideals and Eagle Scout Association. The
scholarship will be awarded to an Eagle Scout based upon his Scouting involvement, his academic interest, his commitment to the BSA
principles, and his life as an Eagle Scout.
Qualifications: Any Eagle Scout
who is a registered member of a Scouting Unit in the Yankee Clipper Council, Boy Scouts of America and a member of the Yankee
Clipper Eagle Scout Association (under the age of 21) and who is applying to enter a post secondary school in his freshmen year. No
applicant to graduate school will be considered.
Requirements: All applicants must

Have
been granted the Eagle rank, or have verified
that their application for that rank has been
received at the national office.

Be a
member of the Yankee Clipper Council Eagle Scout
Association at the time the application is
submitted.

Be a
graduating high school senior entering a post
secondary school in the year that the
scholarship is applied for. If the Eagle Scout
earns the rank after the scholarship deadline
and enters his freshman year, he may apply in
the next year's application period.

Provide with the application a personal letter
of intent to attend school, a statement of his
Scouting involvement and commitment, two written
recommendations from friends or employers, and a
written recommendation from his current unit
leader.

Be
willing to allow his name and picture to be used
in recognition of his selection for the
scholarship in local newspapers, Scouting
website and newsletters, and at his school’s
graduation awards event.

Attend, if possible, the next Eagle Scout
Recognition dinner as the guest of the Eagle
association.
Procedures: The Eagle Scout applying must

Enclose only items requested (no
biographies, resumes, or supplementary list
of activities).

Answer all questions on the application.

Include on each attachment the applicant’s
name and social security number.

Submit all attachments with the application
form to ensure that all items are available
for review at the same time.

Address complete application to: Eagle
Scholarship Committee, Yankee Clipper
Council, BSA, 36 Amesbury Road, Haverhill,
MA 01830.
FAXES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED FOR
CONSIDERATION.

Be advised that only those applications
postmarked after January 15 but no later
than midnight on April 1 and received by
April 5 will be considered.

Be advised that applications become the
property of the selection committee and will
not be returned to the applicant. Between
April 15 and May 15, the selection
committee, will in writing, inform all
applicants of its decision.
The
Association Secretary will
notify the selected Eagle
Scout in writing and will
also notify his school
guidance department of the selection. The letter to the Eagle Scout must spell out that a copy of his school
commitment (a tuition bill) must be sent to the Association Treasurer. Upon receipt of the bill and request, the Treasurer will
issue a check to the institution and mail it to the recipient.
The recipient Eagle Scout may be asked to speak at the next annual Eagle Scout
Recognition Dinner as the guest of the Eagle Scout Association. |
