On Line Auctions through cMarket Logo  We welcome our YCC scouting families, our scout leaders and volunteers, and their families. We also welcome everyone from beyond our scouting community at large. We hope that you enjoy participation in our auction - and that you successfully bid on the items you want!

Proceeds from the auction go directly to support Yankee Clipper Council operations, enhancing our local scouting program at all levels!  The auction items range from many scouting type collectibles and camping/outdoor equipment to sports memorabilia, to exotic vacation getaways and other donated items guaranteed to delight and surprise.

So, tell your friends, family, co-workers, and others in your community, and then.....

Let the bidding begin!!

Please note, this online auction is intended to involve active participation for e-mail activity and bidding by individuals 18 years of age and older. Therefore, we hope that scouts will participate with their parents in this auction, viewing the auction items together and choosing items on which to bid.  Good luck and have a fun time together!

How It Works

cMarket is the foremost online auction environment on the Internet, especially for nonprofit organizations!  They have established a comprehensive and easy-to-use auction site that is customized for each of their clients – in our case, the Yankee Clipper Council.

The primary elements of the online auction process are:

  1. Through online access and links through the YCC website, individuals have the opportunity to join in on the auction, viewing all auction items at any time during the auction timeframe (generally 3-4 weeks), and bidding on items they like (as long as they register for auction participation).
  2. Anyone can sign-up for auction notices (both pre and during auction), by simply providing their e-mail address online.  Also, the YCC cMarket organizing team will establish e-mails lists for each auction, assuring appropriate e-mail notices and updates for participants.  Any one can also refer a friend to the auction and can also donate items to the auction as well.  cMarket does not share any of the end users (i.e. those that sign up for the e-mail notifications and for bidding participation) information with third parties, and the privacy information statement is provided to all end users at the time they enroll for information and as bidders.
  3. A “Coming Soon” auction page is posted live online prior to the beginning of the auction, so that individuals can find out about the upcoming event through a link on the YCC website.
  4. Upon the beginning of the auction, a live auction event site is posted with direct access through the cMarket site, as well as through a link on the YCC website.  During the course of the auction, e-mail notices are sent to those signed-up and registered, giving updates on certain items, as well as new items added to the auction.
  5. All items are fully described, including digital pictures, as well as any special information and instructions on each item.

It’s really a lot of fun!!
